The College for Creative Studies provides you the opportunity to study at a world-class institution that not only provides the knowledge to become a great artist or designer, but also the experience to prove it through real life application. Students learn from professionals who know the ins and outs of their industries. While mentoring the twelve K-12 student finalists, one Product Design studio at CCS also tackles an M-Prize challenge topic of their, putting an entire four month semester of effort towards one challenge topic. This sets a great examples for K-12 educators to see what design students can produce with 16 weeks of effort in 4 key categories: Research, Ideation, Refinement and Execution.
This year the CCS students tackled a real-world innovation challenge given by the Michigan Central and NewLab collaboration with Airspace Link to look and Urban Air Mobility and the use-cases and concepts that can help the Corktown, Detroit neighborhood. Each student studied and created their own use-case and developed these compelling solutions.
