Kristi Law has been teaching since 1999 and has been fortunate enough to spend her entire teaching career in West Bloomfield, Michigan, teaching a variety of grade levels. Kristi has spent the last 22 years in the Talented and Gifted Magnet Program, serving a multi-age class of third, fourth and fifth grade students. She loves using Project Based Learning and creating individualized learning plans with her students. Kristi LOVES MPrize and the opportunities it provides for her students to explore the engineers and designers inside themselves, while they let their creativity flow.
Kristi graduated from Michigan State University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching. While working with the Galileo Teacher Leader Academy, Kristi also completed her Education Specialist Degree from Oakland University.
Within West Bloomfield School District, she serves as the Elementary Lead Mentor, assisting educators with their onboarding into education and to help them develop their craft throughout their career. Kristi also serves as the Elementary Negotiation Representative on the WBEA team helping to develop Contract language for her unit. She also enjoys working with Field Placement students from Oakland University as the West Bloomfield liaison, as they partner to help provide real-life classroom experiences for the University’s students in their Elementary Education program.
When Kristi is not teaching and being a teacher leader, she enjoys playing games, building Legos and watching movies with my family or taking my dog, Sadie Lu, for long walks throughout West Bloomfield, where she lives, and watching her two children grow up. She looks forward to playing a part on the Michigan Design Council to help all students reach their full potential and to hopefully choose to work right here in the state of Michigan.
